iPhone SE 3: an iPhone XR-inspired design for Apple’s affordable smartphone?
Apple is expected to unveil a new generation of iPhone SE, its line of affordable smartphones, in the coming months. Its design has been talked about a lot in recent weeks, as the various reports all contradict each other.
By next March or April, Apple fans will be able to discover a new iPhone SE 2022 smartphone, which should notably use some components of the latest iPhone 13. Indeed, the device will be notably powered by the company’s new A15 Bionic chip, which will make it 5G compatible.
While most previous reports indicated that the smartphone would continue to use the same 4.7-inch LCD screen as the previous model as well as the iPhone 8, new renders let us see what the smartphone could look like if the one -it finally used the same screen as the iPhone XR, as some leakers suggest.
An iPhone SE 3 with a 5.69-inch screen?
According to leaker @xleaks7 on Twitter, who has already correctly announced the design of as yet unknown smartphones many times, the iPhone SE 3 would benefit from a screen a little smaller than that of the iPhone XR, of 5.69 inches. This one would be always LCD, and not OLED like the manufacturer’s high-end smartphones.
New renderings reveal what the smartphone could look like. We would find the screen at the front with a notch. The latter could be equipped with the Face ID biometric authentication system, but it is much more likely that Apple will opt for a fingerprint sensor on the edge as is the case on the new iPads. At the back, there is a single photo sensor.
For the moment, it is difficult to say if the iPhone 3 SE 2022 will be inspired by the iPhone X or if it will keep the same design as the iPhone SE of 2020. Most reports indicate that Apple will continue to use a 4.7-inch screen in its next smartphone, so it is very likely that we will not be entitled to a design change this year, that we will have to wait until 2024 to see the iPhone SE adopt the characteristic notch of the current iPhones. We also know that Apple will soon abandon the notch for two punches in the screen of the future iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max.
